A 45-year-old Hudson man was struck by a vehicle and killed while riding a bicycle early Sunday in Pasco County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred on Scenic Drive, north of Jasmine Boulevard, and a person driving the vehicle that hit the man fled, according to troopers, who were called to the scene at 8:30 a.m. The victim was not identified.
The driver of the vehicle also was unidentified and authorities are seeking information regarding the accident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at *FHP or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.
According to a statement by Crime Stoppers, investigators believe the vehicle is a 2014 or 2015 Kia Sorento, red or maroon in color, with possible damage to the right front of the vehicle.
