Police are looking for a driver who swerved into a 21-year-old motorcyclist Saturday in St. Petersburg, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

A motorcyclist was going east at 11 a.m. in the 5100 block of Central Avenue when a car hit him, forcing the motorcyclist into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane where he crashed head-on with another vehicle, according to a police news release. The initial car that swerved into the motorcycle did not stop, the release said.

Detectives said in the news release they are looking for a white Lincoln Mercury sedan that was seen in the area at the time.
