Pasco motorcyclist dies after crashing into pickup truck

A 22-year-old Pasco motorcyclist died after crashing with pickup truck Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist, who was not named by the highway patrol, was headed north on Alt. U.S. 19, approaching Louis Avenue in the Holiday area, around 5:30 p.m. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of a pickup was headed out of a parking lot and went to turn south onto Alt. U.S. 19, but stopped to clear the traffic of cars headed south, according to the highway patrol.

The motorcyclist then passed stopped traffic to enter the northbound left turn lane, but he collided with the left side of the truck, according to the highway patrol.

The 22-year-old died from his injuries in the hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the pickup and the other two passengers did not sustain any injuries.
