Southbound lanes of I-275 in Tampa back open after truck crash cleared

Lanes along southbound Interstate 275 reopened around 10:15 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

All but one southbound lane of Interstate 275 near the Westshore Boulevard exit were closed Monday morning after a truck carrying roofing materials overturned, police said.

The truck was involved in a crash with multiple cars just north of the Westshore Boulevard exit and overturned, spilling roofing materials onto the interstate, according to Tampa police. The crash also closed the southbound exit to Westshore Boulevard was also closed, police said.

Lanes reopened around 10:15 a.m., according to Steve Gaskins, a spokesperson from the Florida Highway Patrol. The agency took over the crash investigation from Tampa police.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash and two drivers had minor injuries, Gaskins said.
