One person was killed in a Tampa house fire on Tuesday night, officials said.
Firefighters responded about 11:30 p.m. the 10000 block of N Dixon Avenue and found a home enveloped in flames and heavy smoke, according to Tampa Fire Rescue. Crews had the fire under control in 15 minutes.
Firefighters searched the home and found one person who was unable to escape the home and died from injuries related to the fire, according to the department. The department did not release the name of the person or any other details.
No other injuries were reported.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office, the Tampa Police Department and the fire rescue department are investigating the fire’s cause.
