A 41-year-old Tampa woman has died after she was injured in a collision with a garbage truck on Thursday afternoon, officials say.

The woman was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla, which was driven by a 19-year-old Tampa woman, that was traveling north on Nebraska Avenue just before 2 p.m. Thursday.

At the Sinclair Hills Road intersection, the driver of the Toyota turned left into the path of a Republic Services of Florida garbage truck driven by a 46-year-old Gibsonton man that was moving south on Nebraska.

The collision seriously injured the Toyota passenger, who died later at a nearby hospital.

Crash reports related to the incident were not available as of Friday afternoon.
