Holiday woman, 21, killed in Tarpon Springs motorcycle crash

The motorcycle’s 20-year-old driver was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital in Hudson, police said.

TARPON SPRINGS — One woman is dead and another man was seriously injured Friday night in a motorcycle crash, according to the Tarpon Springs Police Department.

Jaden Jackson, 20, and Alina Faillios Chavez, 21, both of Holiday, were riding a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle on U.S. Highway 19 in Tarpon Springs when the bike was hit by an SUV, according to police. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. at the 39000th block of U.S. Highway 19.

Chavez, the passenger, was pronounced dead on the scene. Jackson, the motorcycle’s driver, was brought by helicopter to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Kayliegh McLiesh, 30, was the driver of the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox that hit the motorcycle, police said. Nobody in the SUV was hurt.

Police are still investigating the crash and there was no other information as of Saturday morning.
