Pickup crashes into St. Petersburg home, injuring woman inside

ST. PETERSBURG — A pickup truck drove through a home on 38th Ave. N on Monday, injuring a woman who was in bed inside.

Children were also in the home 5327 38th Ave. N at the time of the crash but were not injured, according to St. Petersburg Police spokesperson Yolanda Fernandez.

Fernandez said Samuel Anderson, 44, was cited for careless driving. Ashley Zurla, 38, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Investigators closed 38th Avenue N to traffic between 53rd and 56th streets as they worked the crash but reopened the road Monday evening.
