Beer and Burger Throw Down shifts to Raymond James Stadium

The fourth annual Beer and Burger Throw Down moves to a new location Saturday: Raymond James Stadium.

Local breweries, burger restaurants and food trucks will fill the stadium's north parking lot at 4201 N Dale Mabry Highway, from noon to 6 p.m.

More than 15 local burger restaurants will compete for Best Burger in the Bay, Best Unoriginal Burger, Best Ethnic Burger and more.

Attendees will also get the chance to vote for best brew and most creative craft beer.

The event will feature $3 burger samples, free home brew samples, an adult gaming area and more than 2,000 square feet designated for a kid's play zone.

There also will be a vendor area with local artists and crafts, DJs from WXTB-FM 97.9 (98 Rock), a college football viewing area with 55-foot television screens, a dog play zone and a meet and greet with Nascar's Cody Lane.

Watch burger eating, stein chugging and beer-belly wet T-shirt contests while sampling cold brews from Big Storm Brewing, Motorworks Brewing, Nine State Brewery, Tampa Beer Works and more.

Restaurants include James Joyce Irish Pub, Eats! American Grill, Wow! That's Fresh, Prime 19 Grill, Bar Louie, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Daily Eats and Freddy's Steakburgers.

Proceeds will benefit Student Survival, a community organization dedicated to providing an educational, character building and leadership experience for the Middle and High School population in Pasco County.
