LUTZ — U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis has planned two "21st Century Cures" roundtables to discuss how to get better treatments to patients more quickly.
The first event, called "Patients and the Patient Perspective," is at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethany Center, 18150 Bethany Center Dr., Lutz. The roundtable will feature representatives from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Alpha-1 Foundation, the Parent Project for Muscular Dystrophy, the ALS Association's Florida chapter and two dysautonomia patient advocates.
The second event, called "Spurring Innovation, Advancing Treatments, and Incentivizing Investment" is at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 22, also at the Bethany Center. It will feature representatives from the Department of Neurology at the Morsani College of Medicine at USF, the USF Neuroscience Collaborative, USF's Byrd Alzheimer's Institute, Nemour's Children's Hospital, NDH Medical, Inc., the Florida Medical Manufacturers Consortium, Moffitt Cancer Center and Rochester Electro-Medical, Inc.
