TAMPA — As the Tampa Theatre marks its 87th birthday, the historic local landmark is getting a new logo that will adorn all of its promotional and marketing materials as part of an overall re-branding effort.
The theater unveiled the new logo Tuesday, the same day that the movie palace opened in 1926. The new logo depicts the theater's iconic vertical blade sign over a backdrop of theater spotlights.
"With this re-brand, we wanted to showcase the theater's historical importance, while also creating a brand identity that would welcome returning and new audiences for years to come," said Jill Witecki, the theater's marketing director.
The new logo is the work of Tampa marketing agency Sparxoo, which is coordinating the theater's re-branding and advertising efforts.
