ST. PETERSBURG — A man is in critical condition after being shot twice on Saturday during a drug deal inside a residence.
St. Petersburg police responded to 4835 26th Ave. N around 11 a.m. and found a man in his late 30s in a semi-conscious state with two gunshot wounds to his upper body.
A witness at the residence provided little information about the suspect and activities leading up to the shooting, police said.
The suspect displayed a firearm and attempted to steal narcotics from the victim and a struggle ensued. The suspect fled in a green vehicle after the shooting. Police have not identified the victim pending notification of next of kin.
A suspect has not been identified.
