Meals for seniors in Pasco County

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for residents 60 or older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs. The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. Meals on Wheels requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. Monday: Lasagna casserole, garlic spinach, Italian vegetable medley, whole-grain bread with margarine, applesauce, low-fat milk.

Tuesday: Barbecue pork riblet, lyonnaise potatoes, green peas, dinner roll, mixed fruit, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Breaded fish fillet with tartar sauce, cheesy grits, tomatoes and okra, whole-grain bread with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.

Thursday: Grilled chicken breast patty with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole-grain bread with two margarines, graham crackers, low-fat milk.

Friday: Meatballs with brown gravy, rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, white bread with margarine, pears, low fat-milk.
