LEARN HOW TO PRUNE YOUR TREES: Safety Harbor is home to a variety of trees from palms and crape myrtles to beautiful old shade trees, which all require special care to ensure they stay healthy. Join Safety Harbor arborist Art Finn as he presents tree pruning techniques at a workshop at the Safety Harbor Library, 101 Second St. N, at 6 p.m. on Sept. 29. JUNK IN THE TRUNK: Safety Harbor will be holding a Junk in the Trunk sale at the Safety Harbor Community Center, 650 Ninth Ave. S, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 8. For those interested in selling items, space rental is $10 per space or to rent a table. Yard sale shoppers won't want to miss this rain-or-shine event that features more than 50 participants. THE CLEARWATER CHAPTER OF THE MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA will meet at the Clearwater Country Club, 525 Betty Lane, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for its monthly luncheon. Guest speaker will be U.S. Rep. David W. Jolly, who represents Florida's 13th Congressional District, which covers most of Pinellas County.
