Ratt Run motocycle event, pancake breakfast, history workshop among events

'RATT RUN' BIKE EVENT: The Freedom Chapter of ABATE of Florida will host its eighth annual Ratt Run on July 28. Sign-ups will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at R Place at the Crossroads, 25 W Dr. M.L. King Jr. Blvd., Brooksville. Stops include Mike's Friendly Pub in Homosassa, the Mouse Trap in Inglis, Sleepy Hollow in Floral City and Rebar at 10123 Broad St., Brooksville.

The cost is $10 per rider; additional cards are $5.

The run benefits the Freedom Chapter's motorcycle safety and awareness program. Safety and membership information will be available. For information, call Ratt at (352) 584-1278.

DANCE DAY: The Hernando County Family YMCA will celebrate National Dance Day with a dance exercise class from 9 to 11 a.m. July 28 at the Y, 1300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.

The class will include ballet-inspired dance and stretch, Zumba, hip-hop and belly dancing. All ages are welcome.

KNIGHTS HOST BREAKFAST: St. Frances Cabrini Knights of Columbus Council 13209 will have a pancake breakfast after the 7:15, 9 and 11 a.m. masses on July 29 in Xavier Hall, 5030 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.

The menu will include pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. The cost is $3. For information, call (352) 683-9666.

KOREAN WAR VETS SCHEDULE FALL FESTIVAL: Korean War Veterans Legion 5053 and Ladies Auxiliary will have their annual fall festival Sept. 29 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. There will be a social hour with a cash bar from 2 to 3 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded. A buffet dinner, catered by John Mason Catering, will be served from 3 to 4:15 p.m. Entrees include top round of roast beef with gravy, and salt and pepper boneless breast of chicken. Dessert will be apple pie a la mode. Irish comedian Danny Justice will entertain from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door. PERSONAL HISTORY WORKSHOP: The Hernando County Public Library will offer a personal history workshop at two locations: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 2 at Lykes Memorial Library, 238 Howell Ave., Brooksville; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at the East Hernando Branch Library, 6457 Windmere Road, Ridge Manor West. Participants will have an opportunity to share their memories with others, participate in writing exercises and receive tips on how to write their personal histories. DROP OFF SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Donations of school supplies to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hernando County are being collected through Aug. 10 at Cadence Bank, 1300 Pinehurst Drive, Spring Hill.
