Teens to perform 'mash-up' play in New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY — After several months of writing, rehearsing and other prep, teens will perform a mash-up play in honor of Teen Read Week at 6 p.m. Monday at the New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey.

A grant given to the library by the Young Adult Library Services Association and Dollar General will fund the show. The library was one of 10 in the nation to receive the grant. The play "mashes" together several well-known stories, ranging from The Three Little Pigs to The Hunger Games to The Great Gatsby.

Admission is free but attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to be donated. For information, call (727) 853-1264 or email JessicaNPRLibrary@gmail.com.
