TAMPA — Port Tampa Bay has hired David M. Delac as its new chief financial officer.
Delac, 50, comes to the port from a similar position for Galveston County in Texas. He previously worked as controller for WFN Consulting in Marietta, Ga., budget manager for West Palm Beach and deputy director of finance and city treasurer for Roswell, Ga. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Auburn University and has master’s degrees in public administration from Florida State University and in Christian leadership from Liberty University,
He replaces Stephen Fry, who resigned in May and went on to a vice president’s job in finance at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island in Tampa. He is scheduled to start Oct. 14 at a salary of $200,000.
