RIVERVIEW — Aldi says it pushed back the opening of its newest Tampa Bay location by two weeks because of construction delays.

The Riverview store at 10220 Big Bend Road was originally scheduled to open Thursday, but is now slated to open on Nov. 14. The store will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:25 a.m.

“We are eager to open our new Riverview store and offer residents a smarter, faster and easier grocery shopping experience,” Aldi said in a statement.

The new location is part of the chain’s $3.4 billion plan to have 2,500 stores by the end of 2022. The new stores feature natural lighting, wooden fixtures and expanded refrigeration to house its fresh and prepared foods.
