Florida gas prices are down slightly over the week, according to AAA, the Auto Club Group. State gas prices averaged $2.39 a gallon Monday, down 4 cents over the week, while Tampa Bay prices dropped 7 cents over the week to average $2.32 a gallon.
“A massive build in crude inventories and declining demand helped keep crude prices steady, while wholesale gasoline prices moved lower late last week,” said Matt Nasworthy, AAA Florida public affairs director.
Statewide, gas is 17 cents cheaper than this time last year, and 8 cents cheaper than last year in Tampa Bay. Nationally, gas averaged $2.61 per gallon Monday.
