BRANDON — The newest Publix has opened inside the Bloomingdale Square shopping plaza, neighboring its former location which closed on Wednesday.

The new Brandon Publix at 949 E Bloomingdale Ave. opened to shoppers on 7 a.m. Thursday. The property is owned by Jacksonville-based developer Regency Center. The new 48,387-square-foot Publix sits in place of an old Walmart store. The store is Publix’s newest model and layout. It also has an adjacent Publix liquor store.
