Delta adding Tampa-to-Miami flights beginning in May

Delta says the daily nonstop Miami service will create new connections for Tampa travelers to fly to Latin America and other international destinations.

TAMPA — Delta Air Lines said Friday it is adding five new round-trip flights a day between Tampa and Miami, which is expected to connect Tampa travelers to 12 more international routes through Delta’s current partnerships and 10 more destinations in Latin America.

The service begins May 4. Tickets go on sale Saturday. Delta, which has expanded service from Tampa to Amsterdam and Seattle in the last two years, will use 76-seat Embraer ERJ-175 jets for the new service.

Here’s the schedule:

Tampa to Miami

Leave 6:45 a.m, arrive 7:54 a.m.

Leave 10:20 a.m., arrive 11:27 a.m.

Leave 1:40 p.m., arrive 2:46 p.m.

Leave 5 p.m., arrive 6:09 p.m.

Leave 8:25 p.m., arrive 9:36 p.m.

Miami to Tampa

Leave 8:45 a.m., arrive 9:49 a.m.

Leave noon, arrive 1:08 p.m.

Leave 3:20 p.m., arrive 4:27 p.m.

Leave 6:40 p.m., arrive 7:50 p.m.

Leave 10:15 p.m., arrive 11:23 p.m.
