TAMPA — An Arkansas trucking company has told the state of Florida that it plans to lay off 72 employees, all but four of them delivery drivers, as a result of losing its contract for work at the Amazon “flex” distribution center on E Adamo Drive.

RCX Logistics, also known as Railcrew Xpress, said it will close its Tampa operation permanently as of April 12 as a result of Amazon cancelling its contract. The “flex” centers allow Amazon drivers, usually contractors, to pick up orders and deliver them to customers in as little as one to two hours through Amazon Prime.
