Allegiant launching nonstop flight from St. Pete-Clearwater to Little Rock, Ark.

The carrier also begins flying this week to Fargo, N.D.

Allegiant Air has announced a new nonstop flight between Pinellas County and Little Rock, Ark.

The carrier will begin flying from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport to Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock starting May 27, Memorial Day weekend. The seasonal route will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays.

It’s the 53rd route from Tampa Bay for Allegiant, the largest carrier at St. Pete-Clearwater International. This week, it begins service to Fargo, N.D.

The airport has struggled since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. In January, 96,645 passengers traveled through the airport, a decline of 41 percent from January 2020.

For all of 2020, St. Pete-Clearwater saw 1.4 million passengers, a 39 percent decline from 2019, and the hub’s lowest passenger count since 2014.
