An ice cream shop with a breakfast twist opened in St. Petersburg earlier this month.

The Cereal Bar, which offers ice cream that can be infused or topped with breakfast cereals, is located at 689 Central Ave. It opened on Nov. 9.

The shop uses a drill-style press which infuses the flavors into soft serve ice cream, according to a media release. Guests can add Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnabon cereal and more into their dessert.

The ice cream comes in two sizes: 8 ounces with two cereal options and one topping or 12 ounces with three cereals and two toppings. It can be served in either a cup, waffle cone, milkshake or “waffle cloud,” which is ice cream stacked on top of a waffle.

The Cereal Bar’s hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from noon to 9 p..m. On Fridays and Saturdays, it’s open between noon and 10:30 p.m.

“My grandmother taught us that ice cream was an appetizer and a dessert,” Cereal Bar owner Jen Cole said in a statement. “Ice cream has always put a smile on my face and this is our opportunity to bring that to your family.”
