Longtime Raymond James Financial leader Tom James is being honored at the 2018 InvestmentNews Icons & Innovators luncheon next spring. The event recognizes outstanding financial advisers and professionals nationwide.

James, currently chairman emeritus for the St. Petersburg-based firm bearing his family's name, will receive an "icon" award for "those who have contributed profoundly and consistently to the success and advancement of the financial advice profession."

In 1969, at just 27, James became CEO of St. Petersburg-based Raymond James, a post he held more than 40 years before turning over day-to-day operations to his hand-picked successor, Paul Reilly, in 2010.
