TAMPA — Tampa-based Financial Information Technologies, a payment processor and analytics company for the alcohol industry, received a "strategic investment" from private equity firms TA Associates and Luminate Capital Partners. Fintech, which announced the investment this week, declined to disclose the terms of the deal or the relative size of the investment.

"TA Associates is very experienced in electronic payment and financial technology markets, and we are delighted to welcome them as a new investor," said Tad Phelps, Fintech president, in a release. "The firm has a strong track record of partnering with management to accelerate organic growth and complete strategic acquisitions."

According to Fintech, its products are used in more than 120,000 retail locations and by 3,500 alcohol distributors in the country. In 2015, Fintech made the Tampa Bay Times' "Top Workplaces" list at No. 34 in the small companies category.
