Dairy Queen leads SouthShore fast food parade

RIVERVIEW — Some of the nation's most popular fast food restaurants have taken notice that the SouthShore population is booming and they are offering local families and commuters more dining options.

Riverview residents have been enjoying upside down Blizzards with the opening of a new Dairy Queen this spring in the Big Bend area and Sun City citizens are abuzz about the pending openings of Dunkin' Donuts and Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen.

The region's newest DQ Grill & Chill restaurant is located at 13316 U.S. 301 directly in front of Panera Bread and Buffalo Wild Wings. Visit them on Facebook for back to school specials and hiring information at

Farther south, Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins is finishing construction on its parking lot at 717 Cypress Village Blvd. Mike Gravel of Dunkin' Donuts Sun City said they are still hiring managers, cashiers and bakers and hope to be open in three weeks. Interested applicants should email

Sun City residents are going to have a wait a little longer to try the fried chicken, fish and shrimp at Popeye's. It's still under construction next to Denny's at 3763 Sun City Center Blvd. Applications are available at the Popeye's Big Bend location in Riverview.
