TAMPA — The Florida Cannabis Coalition will host the CannaDay Medical Marijuana Conference and Expo, an event for entrepreneurs, medical professionals, caregivers and job seekers in the medical marijuana industry, on Saturday in Ybor City.
The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held at the Cuban Club, located at 2010 14th Ave., in Ybor City, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets run from $49 to $249 for entry.
"There have never been more opportunities to get into the cannabis industry than right now, especially in Florida," said Pete Sessa, co-Founder of Florida Cannabis Coalition, the state's largest medical marijuana business organization, in a statement. "Even if only eight companies are licenced to grow and sell cannabis, there is still massive opportunity to participate in the industry and build a business to help patients."
Attendees can learn more about the latest marijuana laws in Florida, the science behind marijuana and cannabinoids, how to incorporate medical marijuana into a medical practice, hemp textile opportunities and other topics at the event. Hemp-infused food and beverage will be provided by the Tampa-based Hemp & Coffee Exchange.
Veterans groups, Weed for Warriors Project, Buds for Vets and Veterans United will discuss veteran's issues related to cannabis.
The Florida Cannabis Coalition is a 600-member cannabis business organization that was established in 2014. Through online classes, in-person workshops, networking events and conferences, the coalition aims to educate and connect Floridians on the business and science of medical marijuana.
