CHAMBER PRESENTS COMMUNITY AWARDS: The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce had its annual banquet and community awards dinner June 8. Community awards were presented by David West, master of ceremonies, and Dr. Lisa Richardson, awards committee chairwoman. Grady Cunningham, owner of Lori Anne?  s and Church Street Shoppe/Toys, Kites & More received Business Leader of the Year honors. Other winners included: San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union (Jill Evans), Large Business of the Year; the Dade City Beef ‘O’ Brady’s/Todd Batchelor, Small Business of the Year; Thomas Promise/Wade Thomas (Amanda Keith), Civic Association of the Year; Police Chief Ray Velboom, Citizen of the Year; Mark Pinson/Entangle Media, Chamber Member of the Year; Richard Riley, Chamber Ambassador of the Year, and Harold Sample, the Richard Tombrink Lifetime Achievement Award. At the chamber?  s October business breakfast and board installation ceremony, chamber president Randy Surber will be presented with the annual President’s Award. GROUP LOOKING FOR NEW MEETING LOCATION: The Wesley Chapel Business Link of the San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union is looking for a new Wesley Chapel meeting site. Until a permanent location is found, the group will meet at Scotland Yards Golf Club, 9424 U.S. 301, Dade City. The group of approximately 30 to-40 meets from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. The Business Link provides a forum for idea exchanges and a platform for education. DIRECTOR WINS LEADERSHIP AWARD: Dan Frenden, who became the executive director at Consulate Health Care of New Port Richey two yeas ago, has for the second year in a row won the Eli Pick Leadership Award. Under Frenden's leadership, the center has gone from a one-star Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services center to a five-star center. Frenden credits his staff for the center's success. His next goal is to earn the Governor's Gold Seal.

CHAMBER AWARD CEREMONY: The community affairs committee of the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce will have a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. June 28 at Copperstone Executive Suites, 3632 Land O'Lakes Blvd., Suite 105, Land O'Lakes, when the chamber will present its third quarter Heart of Pasco award. CO.STARTERS-DADE CITY: The Pasco Economic Development Council and the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor the next session of Co.Starters, a national program that helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into a new businesses, beginning July 6 and running through Sept. 7. The program will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at the chamber office, 6013 Wesley Grove Blvd., Wesley Chapel. The cost is $295. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. June 30.
