The United States is expected to gain 23 million-dollar cities in the next year, and one of them will be within easy driving distance of the Tampa Bay metro area. According to Zillow, the median price of a home in Anna Maria is projected to rise to $1.0094 million from the current $964,200.

No bay area cities are close to a million-dollar median value; the highest now is North Redington Beach at $638,500. The Orlando metro area is also lacking in million-dollar municipalities while the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area boasts four, topped by Fisher Island with a median of nearly $3.2 million.

Of the 23 cities expected to hit the million-dollar mark next year, all but six are in California. Others are in the New York, Boston, Seattle and Asheville, North Carolina areas.
