Despite steadily rising prices, Tampa Bay is the most affordable market for first-time homebuyers. That's according to Zillow, which based its findings on several variables including median home value, forecasted growth in home value and share of listings with a price cut.
Other metro areas among the top 10 most affordable are Indianapolis, Houston, Orlando, San Antonio, Saint Louis, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Dallas. First-time buyers would have the hardest time finding an affordable home on the West Coast.
