TAMPA — Architectural Digest has named Tampa's Oxford Exchange as Florida's most beautiful independent store — and one of the 50 most beautiful in the nation. Opened in 2012 in a onetime stable, the exchange a at 420 W. Kennedy Blvd. includes a restaurant, gift shop and a bookstore with "a carefully curated selection of new releases, bestsellers, classics, and more," the magazine says. "The bookstore focuses on the beauty of the physical book, using the striking black and white motif to allow the books to pop off the shelves."
Architectural Digest highlighted one unique store in each state: Others include a gift shop in a 124-year-old former candy store in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Paris-style flea market in an 1874 Victorian building in Savannah, Georgia. "Small businesses are the cornerstone of America, each sharing new knowledge and creativity with locals," the magazine says.
