Target is renovating more than 1,000 stores by the end of 2020, including two SuperTarget locations in New Tampa and Clearwater.

The Clearwater store's makeover — which the corporation calls ''reimagining" — just wrapped up, according to Target spokeswoman Liz Hancock. New Tampa's remodel should be finished late this summer, she said.

"The reimagined stores will feature Target's most ambitious store redesign to date, featuring modernized design elements and bringing more technology and digital experiences to our stores to give guests an experience that's easy and inspiring," Hancock said in a statement.

Each of the stores will have the following improvements:

• Updated décor, modern fixtures, mannequins and specialty lighting.

• Improved order pickup and guest service counter to streamline online shopping.

• A new beauty shop designed to look more like a Sephora than a drug-store aisle.
