Two new restaurants, Drama Burger and Miguelito's Taqueria y Tequilas, have joined the popular and bustling stretch of Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa.
Drama Burger opened at 2420 W Kennedy Blvd. at the end of February. It's the Lithuania-based burger chain's first U.S. location. The sign out front of the restaurant reads "All is better with a bit of drama."
Drama Burger brings a European approach to hamburgers. One of the more popular items on the menu is the pastrami burger, which is cooked for nine days.
In addition to burgers, Drama Burger serves European snacks and desserts. The restaurant offers brunch on the weekend and pairs burgers with beer.
Miguel Rodriguez, owner of Miguel's Mexican Seafood and Grill, opened Miguelito's Taqueria y Tequilas in January at 2702 W Kennedy Blvd., just three blocks from his flagship restaurant.
Miguelito's serves tacos, guacamole and burritos, tortas (Mexican-style sandwiches) and has a breakfast menu. The cocktail menu includes tequila on tap.
Both restaurants join a busy corridor of independent restaurants and businesses on Kennedy Boulevard. Nearby is Buddy Brew Coffee and Ducky's restaurant.
More restaurants are coming to Tampa soon.
Goody Goody, from the Columbia Restaurant's Richard Gonzmart, will open at Hyde Park Village.
TeePee Taco, another concept by Big Ray's Fish Camp owner, Nick Cruz, is slated to open at 6118 Interbay Blvd., on Cinco de Mayo. Teepee will serve tacos, fajitas and some more exotic Mexican dishes.
