Kahwa Coffee will open its 12th location and fourth with a drive-thru in a former "farm store" in St. Petersburg.

The new St. Petersburg location will open by late July at 5820 9th Avenue N., in a 410-square-foot, T-shaped building built in 1962. The building was used as a farm store, which sold fresh produce and other goods until the mid-1980s, according to a press release. Kahwa plans to restore the building in a way that will pay homage to the building's original purpose.

"We have a special opportunity to restore a unique piece of architecture from an era-gone by," said Kahwa owner Raphael Perrier in a statement. "We cannot wait to bring our vision for this drive-thru to the public and serve our signature blends to the rapidly-growing western-side of St Petersburg."

This store will be Kahwa's second in St. Petersburg with a drive-thru.

Kahwa is a St. Petersburg-based coffee roaster and cafe chain with locations across the Tampa Bay area.
