Mexican restaurant headed to Hyde Park Village

A long-awaited restaurant is headed to Hyde Park Village in Tampa.

WS Development said Friday the Mexican restaurant, bartaco, will open next to Lululemon Athletica across the street from the fountain area. No opening date was given.

The Connecticut-based restaurant will be the sixth nationwide and first in Florida. Inspired by a rustic, South American beach resort, the restaurant offers upscale Mexican street food served in small plate portions.

Also opening at the village is J McLaughlin, a New York-based American sportswear and accessories store for men and women. It's scheduled to open in late September on W Snow Avenue between the Wine Exchange and Piquant. It will be the first J McLaughlin store in the greater Tampa market.
