Ratings service Nielsen begins tracking live TV consumption on Hulu, YouTube

TV ratings service Nielsen will begin tracking how many people watch network TV on YouTube and Hulu to gauge how many viewers broadcast networks have through streaming, the company announced Tuesday.

The ratings giant, which operates its Global Technology and Innovation center in Oldsmar, provides data to help media companies set advertising rates.

The two streaming services haven't disclosed the number of subscribers they have for their recently-launched live TV services. Each costs about $40 per month.
