What you need to know about today's Tampa Premium Outlets grand opening

Tampa Premium Outlets opens this morning in Wesley Chapel. The 441,000-square-foot outdoor mall at State Road 56 near Interstate 75 is the latest addition to the retail growth in that area sparked by the Shops at Wiregrass, which opened near I-75 in 2008. Here's what you need to know before you go.

Stores: There are 103 of them. Saks Off Fifth Fashion Outlet was the first tenant to be announced for the outlet mall, which has nine buildings. Others include Adidas, Banana Republic Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Coach, Cole Haan, Disney Store Outlet, Ecco, Express Factory Outlet, Fossil, Gap Factory Outlet, Hartstings, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Vera Bradley. Here's a list of all the stores.

OPENING activities: Grand opening festivities begin at 9:40 a.m. today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The bands Distinguished Men of Brass, Phase5 and Acoustic Joe will provide music. On Friday and Saturday, shoppers can enjoy Halloween craft stations and a haunted pirate ship, among other family-friendly activities. Bethenny Frankel, The Real Housewives of New York City star, will be at the mall from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Mall hours for the weekend are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Be a VIP: Shoppers who sign up for the mall's free VIP Shopper Club at www.premiumoutlets/com/vip will gain access to an exclusive lounge at the mall and get deals and perks opening weekend.
