While active in the Air Force, New York City native, Carlos Brito often traveled to Tampa for work.
"I love the community here and the diversity. It's very military and small business friendly," Brito said.
The area's beaches were also a plus and so when he retired from the job he held since 1993, he moved to Tampa.
And he's already become a part of the community that drew him here.
On Aug. 31, he will celebrate the grand opening of his first Chick-fil-A franchise near Raymond James Stadium located at 2551 N Dale Mabry Highway.
"There's a service that customers expect from Chick-fil-A," Brito said. "The restaurant is known for its speed, accuracy and commitment to the community."
Eighty team members will be hired for the new location, which Brito expects will have a "high volume drive-thru", especially since it's right off of Dale Mabry Highway.
"Bringing jobs is an opportunity to impact the community," Brito said. "A majority of employees will be over 24 years old, looking for a full-time position and to be paid a living wage." Brito said.
On Sundays when Chick-fil-A is closed and the sounds of screaming fans and the Buccaneer cannon fill the stadium down the street, attendees can pay to park in the lot.
Proceeds will benefit the Tampa Bay Christian Academy.
The grand opening will kick-off on Aug. 31 with events, benefits and specials continuing throughout the week.
