The Tampa Bay Times and the University of South Florida have signed a three-year agreement in which the newspaper will be the sole print media company to sponsor both athletic and academic events at USF.
"The Times has supported the University of South Florida since its early days. Both organizations invest in Tampa Bay and look to its future, so this is a natural partnership between two institutions of similar purpose," said Paul Tash, chairman and CEO of the Times.
"Together, we can use our strengths to benefit both organizations and, we hope, the citizens of Tampa Bay," he added.
As part of the agreement, the Times brand will be visible on news racks, video boards, LED signs, season tickets, university radio and TV features, and online.
"We are proud to partner with such a respected, iconic brand in our community," said Tom Hoof, USF chief marketing officer/vice president of marketing and communications. "This relationship provides us an exciting opportunity to associate the University of South Florida brand with the highly successful platforms offered by the Tampa Bay Times. We look forward to many years of working together."
