Transient arrested, charged in death of homeless man behind Clearwater McDonald’s

Timothy Knott, 33, faces charges of second-degree murder in the death of Brian Waller.

A transient man was arrested in connection with the death of a homeless man found behind a McDonald’s Thursday in Clearwater.

Timothy Knott, 33, was taken into custody around 4:15 Monday and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree murder.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received multiple 911 calls around 5:30 p.m. Thursday about an altercation between two men behind a McDonald’s at 3470 Ulmerton Road.

They arrived to find Brian Waller, 36, with serious upper body trauma.

Waller was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he later died from his injuries, deputies said.
