CLEARWATER — A 53-year-old male motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injures in a Friday crash on Drew Street, police say.

The crash took place about 10:18 a.m. at the corner of Drew Street and N Hillcrest Avenue, outside Clearwater Country Club.

Clearwater police did not release any details about how the crash between the motorcyclist and a car driver took place.

The motorcyclist was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and was reported to be in critical condition. The woman driving the car was taken to a hospital as a precaution. Police did not release their names.

Officers shut down Drew Street between N Evergreen and Orangeview Avenues to investigate the crash scene but the roadway was reopened that afternoon.
