CLEARWATER — It’s not déjà vu. A car has once again been stranded off the Courtney Campbell Causeway after its driver illegally parked off the highway.

Less than a month after a driver made the same mistake on June 19, the Clearwater Police Department said Wednesday morning that another driver ignored “DO NOT ENTER” signs and parked their car in an area that floods during high tide.

An image shared by police shows the latest victim to the sea was a red Lexus sedan. It was stuck in about two feet of water as of 10 a.m. Wednesday.

“Be very careful of where you park when you go for a walk at sunrise and the tide comes rolling in along the Courtney Campbell Causeway,” Clearwater police wrote in a tweet in June. “The sign and barriers are there for a reason.”

Think twice about ignoring signs when you park off the Courtney Campbell Causeway. A car appeared stranded off the side of the causeway on Saturday after its owner illegally parked in a habitat restoration area before high tide rolled in, according to the Clearwater Police Department.
