LARGO — The 49th Street courthouse where Pinellas criminal trials take place will now become known as the Pinellas County Justice Center.
It had previously been known as the Pinellas Criminal Justice Center, but that name doesn't reflect all of the other proceedings that take place at the center, such as family court matters and traffic court, said courts spokesman Ron Stuart. Those noncriminal proceedings will expand in the future, making the new name more appropriate for the complex at 14250 49th Street N, he said.
