The bodies of a Florida mother and her four children that were reported missing were found Monday near Brantley County, Ga., the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon.
Casei Jones, 32, and her four children were reported missing Saturday night. Their family had last seen them six weeks ago in Ocala.
“We have finally located the remains of all four children,” Sheriff Billy Woods said late Monday afternoon, hours after confirming the body of the mother.
The children were Cameron Bowers, 10, Preston Bowers, 5, Mercalli Jones, 2, and Aiyana Jones, 1.
Woods said Jones’ husband, Michael Wayne Jones Jr., 38, was located in Georgia and is being questioned in connection with the deaths.
Authorities said they believe the husband stored the bodies at his home and in a van for weeks before transporting them north to Georgia.
“As a father, as a parent, it breaks my heart,” Woods said. “As a sheriff, it angers me.”
A warrant has been issued for the husband’s arrest on charges of second-degree homicide.
