ODESSA ― Actor Stacey Lauretta Dash, famous for her role in the 90s comedy, “Clueless,” was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery on Sunday night, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Dash got into a verbal argument with the victim at an apartment complex off Trinity Boulevard and Duck Slough Boulevard at about 7:45 p.m., deputies said.

She pushed the victim and slapped his face, the arrest report said. The incident left the victim with “red scratch marks to his left upper arm,” according to the report. The name of the victim was withheld by the agency under Marsy’s Law, which is a constitutional amendment designed to protect crime victims.

The Sheriff’s Office released a recording of the 911 call from the incident. An emotional Dash told a dispatcher that during an altercation in the apartment her husband put her in a headlock. She said she had nowhere to stay and wished to return to Los Angeles.

The agency also released video footage from the body camera of the deputy who arrested Dash. It showed the actress and deputy having as calm and civil an exchange as could be hoped for in the midst of a difficult situation.

The video starts with Dash walking outside into an an apartment complex hallway with two deputies.

“Can you just go ahead and put your hands behind your back for me real quick?” the arresting deputy said.

Dash complied and handed her cellphone to the other deputy.

“What are you doing?" she asked.

“I’ll tell you in a second,” the deputy said. “I’m just detaining you for right now.”

The deputy made sure the handcuffs weren’t hurting her: “Those aren’t too tight, right?” They weren’t.

Then the deputies walked her to a sheriff’s cruiser in the parking lot.

“Am I being arrested?” she asked.

"I’ll explain it to you in a second," the deputy said.

The deputy asked if she has a concealed carry permit, or had ever been arrested in Florida. She said no to both questions. Then they chatted. Here is an abbreviated version of that exchange:

“What do you do for work?” the deputy said.

“I’m an actress,” she said.

“What do you act in?” the deputy said.

“TV and movies ... I did a film called ‘Clueless,’ " Dash said.

“Oh, okay,” the deputy said. “Are you in any shows right now or anything?”

“No. I’m taking a break,” she said. " I did politics for a while ... I was a Fox News contributor."

“Oh yeah, that’s pretty cool,” the deputy said.

The video ends without the deputy explaining why Dash, 52, was being arrested. There was no indication of drug or alcohol use, the report said. She was booked into the Land O’Lakes Detention Facility that night and freed at 11:47 a.m. Monday after posting $500 bail.
