Death of woman, 76, ruled a homicide, St. Petersburg police say

The woman was found dead in her home Sunday. Neighbors hadn’t seen her for days. A murder investigation is now underway.

ST. PETERSBURG — The discovery of a 76-year-old woman’s body this past weekend has turned into a homicide investigation, St. Petersburg police announced on Monday.

Barbara Brylka was found dead Sunday in her mobile home at 10646 Poplar St. NE in the Pinewood Mobile Village near Gandy Boulevard, police said.

Neighbors told officers that they hadn’t seen Brylka for a few days.

Then on Monday, investigators determined that Brylka’s death was a homicide. No other details were released.
