CLEARWATER — A man armed with a gun and a note robbed a MidFlorida Credit Union bank off U.S. 19 N on Wednesday, according to Clearwater police.

The incident took place at about 1 p.m. at the bank at 29383 U.S. 19 N. The man approached tellers with a gun and a note and demanded money. He then escaped in a “newer" dark gray car, possibly a Chevrolet, driving north on U.S. 19 N, police said.

Police did not say how much money he took from the bank. Investigators released a grainy photo of the man taken inside the bank. It showed a person with long hair wearing sunglasses and a long-sleeved cream-colored sweater.

No other details were released by police.
