Deputies in Pasco County said a 77-year-old woman was upset when she found a man watching pornography in his recliner, so she hit him in the head with a metal detector.
The incident happened Friday night, the man, 70, said, but he didn’t call the Sheriff’s Office until Sunday night, when he said Jane Galitello grabbed his arm and scratched him with her nail, causing a half-inch cut.
The man told deputies he was sitting in the living room around 10 p.m. watching a movie on Cinemax. Galitello walked in as a topless woman was on the screen. She told deputies she caught him watching pornography and grabbed the metal detector. The man said she struck him twice in the head with the round, disc-shaped sensor.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Galitello grabbed the man’s arm, cutting him on the right forearm. That’s when he called the Sheriff’s Office.
Galitello said the man has abused her in the past, but deputies said they couldn’t find any visible marks or signs of injury.
She was arrested and taken to the Pasco County jail, where she faces a charge of battery on a person 65 or older.
Authorities said the two are related, but did not indicate how.
