Yosvanys Infante was linked to a fatal shooting that took place on Sept. 21, according to Tampa police.

TAMPA — A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday in a fatal shooting that took place last month, according to Tampa police.

Yosvanys Infante faces a charge of first-degree murder.

The incident took place on Sept. 21 in the 5100 block of W Matanzas Avenue, police said. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound at about 5:14 p.m. They took him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

At the time, police said the shooting was not “random." They did not identify the man who was killed.

Police interviewed witnesses and further and gathered more evidence that led them to Infante, a self-employed construction worker.

He was arrested at 213 Marham Ave. on Friday. He was being held in the Hillsborough County jail on Monday without bail.

Police did not release any other information about the shooting or the investigation.
